They stole big sedans for burglaries then set them on fire

The amount of damage is impressive, around 440,000 euros. Two young people aged 18 and 19 belonging to the Traveler community were tried on Monday before the Rennes criminal court for a long series of thefts and damage, reports West France.

Between October 16 and November 4, the two accomplices had carried out seven journeys in Ille-et-Vilaine, Loire-Atlantique, in the Channel and in Maine-et-Loire. They notably targeted car dealerships to steal Audis or BMWs. These large sedans were sometimes used as ram cars and then burned after the breakage.

Many shops robbed

The two young people had also stolen 28 shotguns from an armory and robbed a tobacconist, a jewelry store as well as garages or garden centers. Tried for around forty facts in total, the two young people, already well known to the courts, were sentenced to three years and eighteen months in prison.

A third alleged accomplice, minor, will be presented later before the children’s judge of Nantes.
