These PAF personalities who bowed out in 2023

Whether in the field of information, culture or entertainment, they have left their mark on the French audiovisual landscape and it is time to pay them a final tribute. On December 16, Ève Gilles was elected Miss France 2024 during a very special ceremony since the competition paid tribute to Geneviève de Fontenay, a few weeks after her death. The lady in the hat, elected Miss Elegance in 1957, was 90 years old.

Thirty-five years of service to Worlda seat assigned to the Grosses Têtes, she also occupied a special place in the “Ruquier gang”: we are of course talking about Claude Sarraute who left us last June at the age of 95.

Two great journalists

It was with amazement that we learned, last August, of the disappearance of Gérard Leclerc, 71 years old, half-brother of Julien Clerc, who died in the crash of the tourist plane he was piloting over the Loire -Atlantic. Also perished in the accident was Michèle Monory, daughter of the former minister and president of the Senate René Monory, as well as a friend of hers.

An essential figure in the French media, Jean-Pierre Elkabbach had dedicated his entire life to the analysis of French political life, both on radio and television. He died on October 3 at the age of 86.

And we will end with Philippe Sollers who bowed out last spring at the age of 86. An essential figure in the republic of letters, this representative of the Nouveau roman vibrated with a sincere love for television and he did not hesitate to invite himself there when the opportunity presented itself.
