The Thurn Castle Adventure Park has a mascot called “Dinolino”. The park offers rides, an animal park, a fairytale forest that can be experienced in different languages, a western town with shows – and a bat center.

The aim of the room, which is unique in Bavaria according to the operators, is to simulate the living environment of bats and is illuminated with black light. Meanwhile, the animal theme is not entirely out of thin air: in fact, around 300 bats are said to live in the attic of the castle. There is also a ride on the theme: the rocking ship “Bat Excursion”.

The park opens daily at 10am and closes between 5pm and 6pm depending on the season. Small children up to the age of three pay no admission, those under twelve must have 32.90 euros ready. Adults and children over the age of twelve pay two euros more.

Anyone looking for action-packed rides is not really at the right place in the Schongau Fairytale Forest. The park is tailored to visitors between the ages of two and eight, and they get their money’s worth in a completely different way: because the park is primarily about fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm, which are represented by figures in small houses.

There is also an adventure forest where children and adults can learn a lot about nature. Of course, you can also let off steam on the playground. If you like it a little quieter afterwards, make a detour to see the many animals. You can get closer to them in the petting zoo, but the world of birds, the rabbit village and the deer park also promise variety.

The animals and fairy tale characters can be visited daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Schongau. Children between the ages of two and five pay 7.90 euros admission, those between six and 60 have to pay two euros more. From the age of 61, admission costs 8.90 euros. Online tickets are cheaper.

Legoland is the address for children who like to play with the well-known blocks. In addition to the very varied rides such as a wild water ride, roller coasters, a Lego factory and a surfer, the focus here is primarily on the huge buildings made of Lego.

According to the park operators, 23 million commercially available bricks, such as those found in many children’s rooms, are installed in various themed worlds. But other attractions, such as children’s own driver’s license, also attract visitors to the amusement park.

Day tickets cost from 39 euros per person if they are post-dated and bought online. Tickets are available at the cash desks subject to availability. Children under the age of three are admitted free of charge. The park is open daily between 10am and 6pm, longer on weekends, public holidays and vacations.

If you don’t like blocks and prefer to immerse yourself in fantasy worlds with Playmobil figures, then the Playmobil Fun Park in Zirndorf is the right place for you. Life-size plastic animals on the farm, the cows can be milked and the horses and ponies groomed. Next door, young farmers will find a large tractor course with a wave track, bumpy track and inclines. Like the farm, the dinosaur parcours and the western town are only open during the high season. In the latter there is an impression of the Wild West, a stagecoach and a dynamite tunnel as well as a gold mine where children and adults can dig for nuggets and precious stones – the Playmobil variant, of course.

Little explorers can climb from tree house to tree house and explore nature in each one. On the ground are a four-meter-tall Tyrannosaurus Rex and a Triceratops mom with a baby. If you want to go high, you can take a rope bridge to the crow’s nest at a height of about eight meters.

The Fun Park is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in summer and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in winter. Visitors need a valid online ticket, which costs 17.90 euros from the age of three and must be dated. Birthday children have free entry.

Adventure Park Voglsam, Schönau

The Voglsam adventure park differs greatly from other amusement parks. Because here it’s not so much about having fun, the focus is above all on movement. The history of the park began quite comfortably with a hot air balloon, over time more movement was added with a go-kart track, a mini golf course, a summer toboggan run and a climbing park. The barefoot path, tire slide and petting zoo are also waiting to be tried out.

And something else makes this park special: Nobody has to pay admission here. From the water playground to the giant trampoline, many attractions on the site are free of charge. Some activities, however, cost something. Prices for mini golf start at around three euros, and those who want to take to the skies in a hot air balloon pay at least 225 euros. There is a special treat for holidaymakers: guests can stay in wooden tree houses.

The adventure park is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the high season, in April, May, June and July sometimes only from 1 p.m., in September and October sometimes from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Outside of school holidays, the high ropes course is only open from Friday to Sunday. More information and prices on the website.
