The cocktail platform Difford’s Guide has an overview of what’s going on in bars around the world and which drinks are particularly in demand. The 100 most popular drinks are published in a ranking every year – this time a lot has happened at the top.
1. Porn Star Martini
For the eighth year in a row, Pornstar Martini tops the rankings. The drink with the slippery name is a real evergreen. The source of the inspiration for the martini cocktail is said to have been a strip club. Well then cheers!
2. Naked & Famous
The surprise climber is the Naked & Famous. Last year, the Mezcal cocktail only made it to 14th place. Now it has made another leap in the popularity charts: 2nd place.
3. Gin Basil Smash
The Gin Basil Smash is an old acquaintance in the ranking. Year after year he stalks his way up the rankings. In 2016, the drink took 33rd place. Now it has displaced the espresso martini, which took third place last year.
4. Espresso martini
No dramatic descent: The espresso martini has moved down one place compared to last year.
5. Amaretto Sour
The Amaretto Sour is not a newcomer either. Last year, the extravagant drink still scratched the top spot. This time it was only enough for fifth place.
6. Cantaritos
The tequila cocktail made it into the top 10 most popular drinks for the first time. In the top 20, on the other hand, it has been established since 2016.
7. Ramos Gin Fizz
Last year the Ramos Gin Fizz had to settle for 36th place. Now it has made it into the top ten bestsellers.
8. Daiquiris
A cocktail that had actually almost been written off: the Daiquiri. In 2020, the mix only made it to 49th place, in 2021 to 34th place. But last year there was tremendous progress in terms of popularity.
9. Margarita
The margarita also made the top 10. The cocktail classic was recently more in demand in the bars.
10. Vieux Carre
Last year Dirty Banana held that spot, but now the New Orleans classic has climbed from 23rd to 10th place.
