There is a lack of land for solar parks in the greater Munich area – district of Munich

Bürgerenergie Unterhaching, which already operates two open-space photovoltaic systems, would like to expand – but there is a lack of land for solar parks in the greater Munich area.

The sheep are drawn to the shade in this hot early summer weather. No wonder, since they are freshly shaved and would probably still get a sunburn. Luckily there is enough protection on their very special pasture. Module after module of the open-space photovoltaic system of Bürgerenergie Unterhaching (BEU) is lined up here to the west of the autobahn, 2778 panels in the northern part, 1880 in the southern part of the Ziegelweg, which leads across the wide field and slips through just behind the system under the A8. The south-facing rows of solar cell modules are ideal shade providers for the sheep, while the animals are perfect lawn caretakers. So a win-win situation. And yet solar parks are still a rarity in the Munich area. Citizen energy would like to set up more such systems. But finding space is difficult.
