Their doors opened while driving, sixty Iveco buses are back

They had been withdrawn from commercial circulation on August 12, for security reasons. Sixty buses operated by Semitan have gradually resumed service in the Nantes conurbation since Wednesday, announced the transport company. A decision which follows the corrections made in recent days by Iveco, the manufacturer of the buses pointed out. In July some of their doors tended to open for no apparent reason while running.

“The manufacturer has committed significant resources to the development and deployment of a patch for the door control software, to ensure its secure operation,” says Semitan. 12 m long, these Iveco buses had been delivered a few weeks earlier to Nantes.

Nearly 280 vehicles have been acquired over the past five years by Nantes Métropole, i.e. more than half of the total fleet.
