JUSTICE – Sacred tile five months before the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. An employee of the Paris town hall filed a complaint on Monday February 26 after the theft on a train of his computer and USB keys which contained the City’s security plans for the Olympics.

The information was first revealed by BFMTVthen confirmed by LCI and the AFP. The events occurred Monday evening at the Gare du Nord in Paris, between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. The 56-year-old engineer had just boarded a train which was about to leave for Creil in the Oise, when he noticed that his bag had disappeared.

In his complaint, he specified that he had placed his bag in the storage above his seat and noticed the theft when he was going to change trains, because his was late. The man immediately filed a complaint at the police station in the 10th arrondissement of Paris.

Paris town hall did not react

In his bag were two USB sticks and his work computer with information “sensitive” on plans to secure the City during the Games.

An investigation has been opened and regional transport security is in charge of the investigations. Requested by AFP, Paris town hall was unable to comment.

The City plans to mobilize a workforce of 2,000 officers from the municipal police department for the Olympics which will take place between July 26 and August 11.
