One more conclusion and one more end – “The Woman Without a Shadow”, that highly tragic opera by Richard Strauss, constantly oscillates between a fairytale world and a sad earthly existence. Strauss and his librettist Hugo von Hofmannsthal increasingly turn this fact into the opposite, and in the end one simply has to lieto fine here.
