Lorna Brady is what you call a messed up existence. She lives in a poor, gloomy terraced house with creepy mannequin heads staring out of the windows. At night she sleepwalks through the Irish town of Kilkinure and does things that are just barely harmless. For example, she hits a Marian altar in the church with an ax. The village community accepts this and feels sorry for her. The village policeman calls her “not quite right in the head.” But in reality, Lorna Brady (Ruth Wilson, “The Affair”) is traumatized by one of the worst crimes ever committed in Ireland.
