The most serious outbreak of the infectious disease Mpox documented to date has occurred in the Democratic Republic of Congo since the beginning of the year. The authorities have registered more than 13,000 suspected cases this year. Over 600 people who were infected with Mpox have already died, says a recent report the World Health Organization (WHO).
