The Whining of the Catholic Church – Culture

Almost a hundred years ago, in 1925, Thomas Stearns Eliot published his poem “The Hollow Men”. TS Eliot, winner of the 1948 Nobel Prize in Literature, wrote in “Hollow Men” about people in an intermediate state before death, in which they wait like straw dolls for the end. “This is the way the world ends / not with a bang but a whimper” is the last line, so the world ends, not with a bang, but with a whimper.
