Humanity already produces more than five million tons of waste every day. According to an estimate by the World Bank, it could be more than ten million tons in 30 years. Kate O’Neill is Professor of Global Environmental Policy at Berkeley University in California, where she researches, among other things, how the global community deals with its waste.
