Last Thursday, Anthony, a 27-year-old VTC driver, was attacked by a couple of customers in Tourcoing, near Lille, in the North. The scene was entirely filmed by the camera on board the victim’s vehicle and the striking images allow the investigation to move forward “very quickly”, according to the driver’s lawyer.
“He was not physically injured but he is very marked by this aggression. Since then, he has been unable to return to work, ”assures 20 minutes master Samir Kahoul, the lawyer of the National Intersyndicale des VTC (INV). His client, Anthony, 27, had picked up a couple in Lille last Thursday for a race to Tourcoing. It is once arrived in the sensitive district of Burgundy that the couple physically attacked the driver.
People “known to the police”
By dint of struggling, shouting and without stopping his vehicle, Anthony managed to put his attackers to flight. Assisted by the INV lawyer, he filed a complaint and entrusted the dashcam images of his car to the investigators. “Thanks to this, the investigation is progressing very quickly,” insists Master Kahoul. These people are “known to the police. We learn that other drivers have suffered the same fate,” said Brahim Ben Ali, president of the INV.
It is not yet known whether the “clients” have been arrested, but a source familiar with the matter says that the suspects have been formally identified. Contacted by 20 minutes on this subject, the parquet floor of Lille has not yet followed up.
