Elliot Page’s “Vanya” becomes “Viktor”
Elliot Page’s character in “The Umbrella Academy” also comes out as transgender in season three.

Elliot Page made it public in 2020 that he is trans – now his series character in “The Umbrella Academy” does the same.
The series character of Elliot Page (35) in “The Umbrella Academy” will also appear as transgender in the third season of the successful Netflix series.
Page already introduced the further development of Vanya Hargreeves, as his character was previously called, on his Instagram page. To a photo from the third season, in which he sits at a counter, Page writes to an umbrella emoji: “Meet Viktor Hargreeves”. Netflix responded in the comments, “Welcome to the family Viktor – we’re so happy you’re here.”
Page revealed more than a year ago that he is trans. In a statement The Oscar-nominated actor explained in 2020: “I can’t even express how extraordinary it feels to finally love myself for who I am and to strive for my authentic self.” The trans community has inspired him endlessly, Page said.
Create awareness of the topic
Since coming out, Page has used his fame to help young transgender people and spread awareness about the issue. In interviews with Oprah Winfrey (68) or “Vanity Fair” he talked about his personal journey, his biography “Pageboy” should appear in 2023. The third season of “The Umbrella Academy” starts on June 22 on Netflix.
