The two accused sentenced to 15 and 13 years of imprisonment

The affair shocked the whole of France. Wyssem Manai and Maxime Guyennon, the two men accused of fatally hitting a bus driver in Bayonne in 2020, were sentenced Thursday evening to 15 and 13 years of criminal imprisonment by the Pyrénées-Atlantiques Assize Court.

This verdict, rendered after five hours of deliberation, is close to the requisitions of the attorney general, who had requested 15 years of imprisonment for the two accused, and rejects the request of the Guyennon defense to reclassify the facts as “voluntary violence leading to an ITT of more than eight days.”
