The trial concerning the murder of a dockworker turns out to be worthy of a thriller

Espionage and threats against a backdrop of drug trafficking. In Lille, the trial of three men suspected of having participated in the kidnapping of Allan Affagard, a docker found dead in Le Havre in 2020, took on, during the second day of the hearing, the appearance of a dark novel and a thriller . Tuesday morning, a former director of investigation of the judicial police (PJ) of Le Havre notably reported before the correctional chamber of the Jirs (Specialized Interregional Jurisdiction) malicious messages received by the dockworker.

Indicted since July 2018, in a vast drug trafficking case, Allan Affagard filed a complaint on March 30, 2020, “following requests via WhatsApp,” said this witness. The exchanges between the docker and the author of these requests had taken on a more threatening tone. “I’m going to call you back this evening, I know everything about you (…) calm down, I’ll beep you again this evening, stop Allan (…) I know that you often go to Rouen,” this individual wrote in particular.

A beacon to remotely follow the couple’s movements.

“The threats were taken very seriously,” said the investigator. According to his ex-partner, the dockworker had “equipped his house with BB guns”. She had discovered “a knife under the mattress”, telescopic batons, an “iron bar. Later, the investigation even made it possible to find a “Topwell type beacon” which was used to remotely monitor the couple’s movements.

“For several weeks, he parked his vehicle in a place quite far from his truck,” said the investigator. Allan Affagard was found dead on June 12, 2020 in Montivilliers, near Le Havre, in Seine-Maritime, after being kidnapped a few hours earlier in front of his home.

The victim had been horribly mutilated: “A gouged eye, a torn nipple and a rag, soaked in gasoline or an flammable product, shoved into his mouth,” a source close to the investigation declared to Paris Normandy.

Logistical assistance in collection

Aged around thirty and from the Le Havre region, three accused of this kidnapping have been appearing since Monday for “participation in a criminal association with a view to preparing an offense punishable by 10 years of imprisonment” . While the investigation to find the murderers continues, the trio is suspected of having provided logistical assistance in the kidnapping.

Suspended Monday due to a strike by clerks, the proceedings resumed Tuesday with two of the three defendants, who were to be questioned later. The third man was unable to be represented by his lawyer. He is declared unwell and will be judged on October 9. The trial continues until Thursday.
