It’s a moment that automobile fans, some from all over the world, impatiently await. The 92nd edition of 24 hours of Le Mans will take place from June 12 to 16 on the famous Sarthe circuit. And to hope to attend the event, it’s this Wednesday that it takes place. The ticket office accessible to the general public will open at 10 a.m. on the Internet and at the points of sale set up by the organizer, Western Automobile Club (CO). But be careful, there won’t be something for everyone, far from it.
Most of the seats in the stands have already been reserved by the 35,000 ACO members, who have benefited from priority ticketing for a week. The same goes for the reception areas, specifies the organization which notes an “unprecedented enthusiasm” for the event, after a centenary edition already marked by a record attendance (325,000 spectators) last June.
An exceptional sports platform
In order to limit the number of disappointed people, certain gauges have been increased, while the number of tickets purchased is limited to six per person. Full prices fluctuate from 46 to 960 euros, according to the formulas. The “race week entry” ticket without grandstand costs 115 euros.
If public interest is so keen, it is mainly because of the “never before seen” sporting event expected this year. The biggest car manufacturers should be there, including Lamborghini, Alpine and BMW, which were absent last June. It was Ferrari who, for his return, had him taken in 2023ahead of Toyota and Cadillac.
A year ago, the 24 Hours of Le Mans sold out barely two weeks after the ticket office opened. It could go faster this year. The historic attendance record could even be broken, estimates the organization. Previous editions brought together an average of 270,000 spectators.
