the stepfather of the teenager found dead in Ille-et-Vilaine indicted

The autopsy gave its first conclusions. Practiced this Tuesday by a medical examiner, the examination revealed obvious traces of violence on the body of the 16-year-old teenager found dead on Sunday August 28 in Vignoc (Ille-et-Vilaine). The lifeless body of the victim was discovered on Sunday around 8 a.m. by residents of this small town located north of Rennes. The corpse lay motionless in front of the fence of the family home. Significant lesions were observed. The autopsy confirmed what investigators feared. “The death would be linked to a depression of the cranial box,” said Philippe Astruc. The public prosecutor specifies that the examination “made it possible to note other lesions” on the body of the young man, confirming the thesis of the murder.

This Tuesday, the victim’s father-in-law was indicted for intentional homicide by a person in a state of intoxication. Aged 34, this man of American nationality nevertheless denied the facts during his police custody. “He confirmed his presence at the family home at the end of the night but denied being the author of the facts”, specifies the prosecution.

Serious clues, the stepfather denies

Arrested on Sunday, the stepfather was indicted “because of the serious and concordant clues found” by investigators from the Rennes research brigade. The victim’s blood was found in the house. Without a criminal record, he was remanded in custody and faces life imprisonment.
