Nearly 1,800 people had also been evacuated from the Alma shopping center, south of the city. In barely an hour, 39 millimeters of rain fell on the Breton capital, the equivalent of three weeks of precipitation. A gust of 103 km / h was also recorded, a record for the month of June.
Claims declarations to be filed before August 21
A little over two months after this episode, the state of natural disaster has just been recognized in a decree published on August 11 in the Official Journal. This recognition “opens the right to reimbursement of damage to the insured property, if the insurer recognizes that the natural phenomenon is the cause of the damage”, explains the city in a press release.
People who have suffered damage have until August 21 inclusive to file a claim with their insurance company.
