“The summer house of the stars” is anything but a relaxing couple’s holiday. These celebrity couples especially fell out on the show.
The seventh season of the RTL program “The Summer House of the Stars – Battle of the Celebrity Couples” (also via RTL+) has been on view since September 7th. And shortly after the start, one pair of house blessings is particularly crooked. In the first episode, there was a dispute between reality TV participant Eric Sindermann (34) and girlfriend Katharina “Katha” Hambuechen (27).
She reproached her boyfriend, calling him “pathetic” and a “disgrace” to her. The media have been speculating about a separation of the “summer house” couple for several weeks. Has the notorious “summer house curse” struck again? Numerous couples went their separate ways after participating – which was often hardly surprising given the violent arguments in the house for viewers. These former couples were at loggerheads at the summer house.
Helena Fürst and Ennesto Monte
A relationship in fast forward or is it all fake? The relationship between ex-jungle star Helena Fürst (48) and singer Ennesto Monté (47), which lasted only a few months, made headlines. Even before the second “summer house” season was broadcast, they officially announced their separation. Viewers of the show should have recognized the reason quickly. The house blessing hung crooked between the couple several times. After a tirade by Monté, Fürst even burst into tears. A year later she confessed in an interview with RTL: “I hated him like the plague in there.”
Bert Wollersheim and Bobby Anne Baker
It was recognized pretty quickly in the third season of 2018 that this love cannot last either: there was already a lot of bad mood between Bert Wollersheim (71) and Bobby Anne Baker in the “Summer House of the Stars”. The two had only started dating a few months before the show. “The short time we had was harmonious, but then it wasn’t so harmonious in the summer house. There was also a verbal one from life,” explained Wollersheim after moving out. The two had to leave the “summer house” as the first couple. Shortly after the breakup, Wollersheim announced his relationship with Ginger Costello (36), with whom he has been in a relationship ever since.
Micaela Schaefer and Felix Steiner
Between Micaela Schäfer (38) and her “bear” Felix Steiner, shreds often flew in the 2018 show. Probably the biggest debate: Schäfer announced in front of the camera that she had never had an orgasm from a man – including her partner at the time. “No, that’s not true!”, he was indignant. Schäfer’s dry answer: “Never with a man. I don’t come during sex!” A short time later they went their separate ways. “We broke up right after the ‘summer house’,” explained the erotic model. The reason is their different views and behavior in public. The two have been a couple since December 2015. In the “summer house” they took fifth place.
Benjamin Boyce and Kate Merlan
Benjamin Boyce (53) and Kate Merlan (35) announced before the fifth episode of season four aired that they had split two months after filming ended. “We have completely different visions of how a relationship should work,” said Benjamin Boyce in an RTL interview. Kate Merlan said something similar: “I think we were just too different”. In the “Summer House of the Stars” she had always had the impression that the relationship no longer made sense. This was also noticeable in front of the television sets: from Boyce’s “Shut Up” calls during games to ongoing discussions about offspring – there were always disagreements between the couple. The singer and the model have been in a relationship since the summer of 2018. In “Summer House” 2019 they reached sixth place.
Elena Miras and Mike Heiter
“How stupid can a person be?” Elena Miras (30) threw at her then partner Mike Heiter (30) in the fourth season of the format. It’s not uncommon for Miras to get upset about lost games or her boyfriend’s alleged lack of performance. Insults from “Are you disabled?” To “Whoa, blatant, separation, separation! No more buck” or “You can fuck me” were the order of the day for the 30-year-old today. Heiter, on the other hand, mostly subordinated himself. After a game, he let his child’s mother know: “I’m proud of you, how hard you tried, but insults don’t have to be, and you can apologize for that.” Despite arguments, the couple walked out of the show together as winners in 2019. The couple then announced their split in September 2020.
Michelle Monballijn and Mike Cees Monballijn
Last year, Michelle (43) and Mike (34) Monballijn appeared together on the TV show. They then briefly announced their divorce in February 2022. It seemed that previously started couples therapy could not solve the problems that had become apparent during the stay at the “summer house”. The 34-year-old repeatedly showed his loud, impulsive nature. In a joint interview, he yelled at Michelle so much that she ran out crying. He then banged his fist on a fence post in frustration. Quote later: “I’d rather hit the wall than start talking”. During the broadcast of the format, Mike Cees-Monballijn suffered a nervous breakdown and promised to get better. In August 2022, the couple gave in a “picture” interviewto be more in love than ever. “We don’t have a toxic relationship,” said Mike Monballijn. “Of course there are issues on which we have different opinions, but every other couple has them too.”
