Next series for Sina-Valeska Jung. After “Forbidden Love” and “Everything that counts”, she plays in the evening series “The Spreewald Clinic”.

After her brief guest appearance on “Everything that counts,” Sina-Valeska Jung (44) has landed the leading role in a new early evening series. She will soon be in front of the camera for “Die Spreewaldklinik” on Sat.1. The broadcaster announced this on Monday. Sina Valeska Jung plays the doctor Dr. Lea Wolff, who comes to the Spreewald from Hamburg. There she looks for her daughter, whom she gave up for adoption twenty years ago immediately after birth.

Sina-Valeska Jung landed her first major role in “Forbidden Love” in 2006. Until 2009 she played in the now discontinued ARD soap Sarah von Lahnstein. After a long break and episodic roles in various series, she finally joined another daily: in 2021 she took on a leading role in “Everything that counts”, but the engagement ended in 2022.

Muriel Baumeister reports back

The makers were able to hire a big name from the series to play the role of Lea Wolff’s boss. Muriel Baumeister (52) plays Dr. Barbara Berg. Baumeister has been on TV since the 90s. She became known through the family series “A House in Tuscany” (1990-1994), the ZDF series “The Country Doctor” and the ARD crime series “Einsatz Hamburg Süd”.

Recently, the German-Austrian made headlines for sad reasons. A year ago she announced that she had breast cancer. In 2022, she announced that she had been sober for four years after going cold turkey. In recent years, Baumeister has made herself rare as an actress, only making guest appearances in films and series. “The Spreewald Clinic” is her first major regular series role in a long time.

In addition to Sina-Valeska Jung and Muriel Baumeister, Isabel Hinz (27) plays the young nurse Nico, Daniel Scholz (49) plays Lea’s childhood sweetheart Paul and Daniel Buder (46) plays the doctor Erik.

The 80 episodes of “The Spreewald Clinic” are filmed in Lübben, Brandenburg. The series is scheduled to start on Sat.1 in the second half of 2024.
