The second “Alpenrausch” festival in the Gasteig HP8 – Munich

After the successful premiere last year, the second will follow this year – albeit shortened to one day “Alpine Rush” Festival in Gasteig HP8. It was again curated by Stefanie Boltz, who is known to most as a jazz singer, but who has also been working behind the scenes in many different capacities for a long time. And as a “confessed Heidi from the foothills of the Alps” with South Tyrol as her second home, she has been taking care of current alpine music for a long time – from the “Alpenspektakel” at Gut Sonnenhausen, an “Alpen Jazz” festival in Achenkirch to a series of concerts at Prösels Castle or in Völs. So now it’s back in her hometown of Munich to new alpine folk music of all kinds, to alpine feeling and the desire for alpine culture and nature.

Archaic tones meet multimedia sounds on five stages, yodeling and alphorn meet modern percussion and techno beats. Already at noon it goes for families with the Cafe Unterzucker going on (Hall E, 1.30 p.m. and 3 p.m.). After the official opening with Jakob Steinkellner & string and dance music from the HMTM (at the Kulturkraftwerk, 2 p.m.), things really get going.

With inland, Albin Bruns and Kristina Brunners duo with contemporary Swiss folk music on cello, saxophone and Schwyzerörgeli (Hall X, 3 p.m.), with jazz from Tyrol (including a Munich touch) by Grapha (Am Kulturkraftwerk, 3.30 p.m.), a Brazilian-Styrian crossover with deeLinde and Emiliano Sampaio (Hall X, 4.45 p.m.), Swiss string folk with Eiger Mönch & UrSchwyz (Am Kulturkraftwerk, 5 p.m.), world music on dulcimer and percussion by Dengl & Kahlert (projector, 6.30 p.m.), alpine art pop with the duo Anna Lang and Alois Eberl aka Sinfonia de Carnaval (Hall X, 6.30 p.m.) and alphorn techno with Loisach Marci (Am Kulturkraftwerk, 7 p.m.).

Framed by workshops, musical hikes, readings and films, the grand finale will take place with the Austrian modern brass septet spring play (Isarphilharmonie, 8 p.m.) and the well-known Linz folk punk veterans Attwenger (Hall X, 9.45 p.m.).
