This Thursday is the fifth day of research for the Deux-Sèvres police investigators mobilized to find Marciano, of whom we have not heard from since Sunday. Dressed in gray jogging, he disappeared in the Tour Chabot district, on the banks of the Sèvre Niortaise. The child suffers from autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and only expresses himself through gestures. A call for witnesses was launched on Tuesday by the police, with the description of the little boy.
Backup divers
Important means were deployed to find the child. This Thursday, the Deux-Sèvres police received the support of divers/investigators from the Charente-Maritime gendarmerie. Investigators also called in dog teams, drones and a helicopter equipped with a thermal camera. A sandal, which the family recognized as belonging to the child, was found on a bank, said Julien Wattebled, public prosecutor in Niort. “It is a disturbing search for disappearance. We have no element suggesting a kidnapping, but we are checking, in particular on the images” of video surveillance, he said.
“We are concentrating our efforts on the Sèvre but we are also looking in town. (…) We went around the cellars, to see if it was not hidden or not lost, we check all the video protection images, ”added the prosecutor.
