The sale of above-ground swimming pools will soon be banned

The drought is forcing the authorities to increase restrictions on the use of water, particularly in the Pyrénées-Orientales, one of the most affected in France. This is the message what did air this Friday morning on RTL Christophe Béchu, Minister for Ecological Transition. In a few days, he will present a new drought guide stipulating the minimum rules to follow, specifying that each prefect can decide to go further, depending on the local situation.

“Avoid the temptation” to fill your pool

The ban on watering gardens, washing cars and filling swimming pools has already been pronounced in several departments. In addition, in the Pyrénées-Orientales, the sale of above-ground swimming pools will also be banned soon “so as to prevent people who buy these pools from being tempted to fill them, even though their filling is prohibited”, specifies Christophe Bechu. He added that this was only a consideration of the gravity of the situation, before concluding “climate change is now, we have to get out of the society of abundance. »
