The Rolling Stones’ new album is causing a stir at the box office. The rockers have had the best start of the year so far.

With their latest album “Hackney Diamonds” they prove Rolling Stones, that you can still rock hard even when you’re old. Mick Jagger (80), Keith Richards (79) and Ronnie Wood (76) can once again look forward to the top position in the German album charts, as determined by GfK Entertainment. This makes the Stones not only the highest newcomer of the week, the British cult band also had the best start of the year so far with the album.

According to a press release, it is also the best album start since the release of Rammstein’s “Zeit” last year and the best start by an international act since ABBA’s “Voyage” in November 2021. In addition, “Hackney Diamonds” is now the eleventh number – one record by the Stones.

Three more newcomers at the top

Three more newcomers can place in the following places in the top five. Just a stone’s throw away, Blink-182 grab the two with their new record “One More Time…”, while Mark Forster also takes bronze from a standing start with “Supvervision”, thus pushing Santiano (“Doggerland”) to the four. Within Temptation complete the line-up with “Bleed Out” on number five.

When it comes to singles, rapper Reezy can assert himself as the strongest newcomer on the three with “14 Passenger”. “Si No Estás” by Iñigo Quintero fights its way to the throne, while Cassö, Raye & D-Block Europe slips to second place with “Prada”. Sira, Bausa & Badchieff (“9 to 9”) ranks at number four and Tate McRae remains at number five with “Greedy”.
