The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) is not exactly known for making internal information public. But the atmosphere there is obviously so uncomfortable that the institute’s staff council felt compelled to make the current sensitivities public for the first time in its history. In an open letter to Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD), the employee representatives describe how things have been rumbling in the house since a new public health institute was announced in the coalition agreement. And especially since the minister presented his ideas about what this facility should look like.
