Amazon’s much-anticipated Lord of the Rings series is imminent. “The Rings of Power” starts on September 2nd with a double episode on Prime Video. Several hundred million dollars were invested in the epic. It should guarantee Prime Video sustainable success. Because the “Lord of the Rings” fan base is huge. The competitors of Amazon’s streaming service such as Netflix or Disney already have series of this caliber in their programs. Prime Video has to step up there.
When asked what viewers could expect from Amazon’s mega-project, one of the main actors, Lloyd Owen, explained that the series will show a larger part of the world once imagined by JRR Tolkien than it did in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings films from the 1970s was seen in the early 2000s.
