The rehabilitation of the Saint-Nazaire bridge will cost 800,000 euros

A week after the damage that occurred on the Saint-Nazaire bridge, the Loire-Atlantique departmental council took out its calculator. And the bill to restore the work, which had remained closed all day Wednesday due to a blockage of demonstrators against the pension reform, looks heavy: 800,000 euros, according to a first estimate communicated on Tuesday.

“Several pieces of equipment have been destroyed or are out of service, in particular two gates providing information to users (signage, dynamic track system), related equipment (technical cabinets, controls, cameras, barriers, etc.), as well as certain parts of the asphalt on the road and around roundabouts (…), writes the community. The dynamic system regulating traffic on the three lanes has also been damaged: bringing this dynamic system back into service could take several months. »

The central lane reopened

The 3.4 km structure, which was reopened to traffic on one lane in each direction, was able to find its central lane since Tuesday afternoon. “Some degraded equipment is still out of service, manual interventions will be necessary on site (…) to complete the marking and ensure the safety of users”, however warns the departmental council.
