The region will test a single and unlimited transport ticket for young people

It is codenamed “Breizhflix”, in reference to the famous streaming platform. At the start of the school year in September 2024, the Brittany region will experiment with a single and unlimited transport ticket for young people under 26. The announcement was made Thursday in Rennes by Michaël Quernez, vice-president in charge of mobility, during the regional council session which was largely devoted to mobility.

This ticket, which should be rolled out nationwide in January 2025, will be valid on trains, coaches and boats on the BreizhGo network. It will also be possible to add an optional subscription to an urban network such as Star in Rennes or Bibus in Brest. The price of this single ticket which should offer “more freedoms to young people”, according to Michaël Quernez, has not yet been fixed. This was one of the promises of regional president Loïg Chesnais-Girard during the regional campaign in 2021.

At the beginning of September, the Minister of Transport Clément Beaune also announced the Government’s desire to set up a rail pass as already exists in Germany. If it sees the light of day, this transport ticket would allow its holders unlimited travel on TER, Intercity and urban transport for 49 euros per month.
