The region files a complaint for a “large-scale cyber-attack”

Guadeloupe is the target of pirates. The region has indeed filed a complaint following a “large-scale cyberattack”, stating that it has interrupted all its computer networks “to protect its data”.

“A diagnosis is underway,” the region said Monday. “A service continuity plan is in place to ensure public service missions,” said the local entity, which adds that it has filed a complaint and sent a notification to the CNIL.

Agents called to be extra vigilant

In an internal communication, sent to the agents at the end of the afternoon, the regional authorities indicate that a crisis cell has been set up and recommends that the agents be extra vigilant. The region said it collaborates with the national information systems security agency, the national police and the gendarmerie.

Guadeloupe is added to the list of local entities affected in recent months by computer attacks, after the Corbeil-Essonnes hospital in August, the city of Caen at the end of September, the department of Seine-Maritime in October and that of Seine -et-Marne in November. In Essonne, a ransom of 10 million dollars, then reduced to one or two million dollars, according to the sources, had been requested from the hospital center.
