Deconfinement continues. Universities will be able to accommodate 50% of students from May 19, against 20% so far, in order to organize remedial preparation sessions, the Minister of Higher Education, Frédérique Vidal announced on Wednesday. Asked about Sud Radio on the evolution of the gauge in the universities, the minister indicated that we would pass “to 50% from May 19”, that is to say “one seat in two”.

Since the end of January, a maximum level of 20% of the reception capacity has been tolerated, that is to say one day of presence per week for each student. “It was important that we could bring back the students” and allow “the universities to organize preparation sessions for the remedial sessions”, explained the Minister.

Half of distance exams

Most universities organize their end-of-year exams in May, after months of mostly distance learning, due to the health crisis.

“Each establishment has voted its methods of checking knowledge”, recalled the Minister. “We have about half of the exams that will take place face-to-face and the other half that will be either remotely, or a report submission, or an assessment on the basis of continuous monitoring,” she said. .

The government had authorized the organization of face-to-face exams from May 3. He is preparing a September student start “100% face-to-face” with “half-gauge fallback solutions” if the health situation requires it.
