The prosecution waives its appeal for seven of the twelve police officers who were to be retried in September

Their appeal trial was scheduled for September, it will not take place. The Aix-en-Provence Court of Appeal waived the prosecution of seven of the twelve BAC Nord police officers, tried in April 2021, and for whom the public prosecutor had appealed the court decisions pronouncing partial or total acquittals, reports BFM Marseille.

In the BAC Nord case, brought to the screen by Cédric Jimenez, 18 police officers from the anti-crime brigade assigned to the northern sector of Marseille, were arrested in October 2012 and indicted for thefts of drugs and money. . In the first instance, eleven of them were convicted and seven acquitted. The appeal lodged related in part to these seven acquittals which thus become final. Five other defendants, partially convicted in April 2021, should however be back at the helm in September.
