The Aquitaine bridge blocked

Almost an hour after the departure of Matmut, the entrance to the ring road looms for the procession which is preparing to block the interior part. On the outer ring road side, traffic is blocked between Bordeaux Lac and Bruges. At the Bruges exit, the convoy was stopped by the police. Stopped suddenly.

Around 8:30 a.m., the procession set off. At the bridge over the ring road, at Bordeaux Lac, vehicles are dispatched to take the outer or inner ring road. Around, traffic begins to thicken. The procession, launched towards the inner ring road, travels at 10 km/h and blocks the three lanes of the Aquitaine bridge. Opposite, the situation is the same, with the other part of the convoy leaving on the outer ring road.

First movements

Around 8 a.m., the organization becomes clearer. A call to enter vehicles was launched. The organizers will dispatch taxis at the entrance to the ring road to share the convoy between the outer and inner ring roads.

According to the prefecture, 50 taxis have already taken the route to the Aquitaine bridge.

This Monday, January 29, since 6 a.m., taxis have been gathering at the Matmut Atlantique stadium in Bordeaux. Some 800 vehicles are expected. At 7:15 a.m., approaching the Matmut stadium, there are already traffic jams. The line of vehicles is at a standstill. Taxis converge from the ring road exits. They also come from 64, 40, 47. Everyone is on warnings and already a few echoes of horns suggest a massive presence. Some 400 taxis are already present in the area. They offer coffee and chocolatines to the police officers who will escort them. The chocolatines will be used to count the forces.

The stadium parking lot is closed. All vehicles park around the roundabout. And on the access roads.
