An investigation for fatal blows was opened following the discovery by a passer-by of a man hanged in the Plaisir forest, in the Yvelines, the Versailles prosecutor’s office said Monday, requested by AFP. “The first elements of the autopsy suggest an external intervention”, specified a judicial source, bruises and traces of strangulation having been found on the corpse. According to the same source, hanging is not the cause of death.
The victim, a man in his thirties, was identified thanks to his fingerprints as being the president of the judo club of Suresnes (Hauts-de-Seine) who had been missing for several days, according to the public prosecutor, confirming an information of Parisian. According to the newspaper, the body was discovered on October 30.
The investigation initially opened for “search for the causes of death” is now continuing “for willful violence resulting in death without intention to give it”, said the prosecution. It could be “a sex game that goes wrong,” said a source close to the file to AFP, even if “all avenues are studied”.
