It took almost 90 years for this brilliant and magnificent operetta to have its German premiere in Regensburg: “The Prince of Shiraz” by Joseph Beer was premiered in 1934 at the Zurich City Theater and re-enacted in half of Europe, as was his second operetta “Polish Wedding”. It was played in concert in Munich in 2015 with an illustrious cast and immortalized on CD.
