After the failure of discussions between Health Insurance and the six representative unions of liberal doctors, the mediator appointed by the Minister of Health François Braun proposed an increase in the price of the consultation this Monday, April 24.
HEALTH – This is the new stage of a soap opera lasting several months. After the failure of discussions between Health Insurance and the six unions representing liberal doctors, the mediator appointed by the Minister of Health François Braun to clear the file has just returned her copy.
Former inspector of social affairs, Annick Morel receives this Monday, April 24 the unions of doctors to announce to them a revaluation of the consultation of 1.50 euro, bringing to 26.50 euros the basic price for general practitioners, and 31.50 euros among specialist practitioners.
This pricing will apply from the fall on a provisional basis, until the doctors’ unions and the Health Insurance manage to reach an agreement for the next 5 years.
No counterparties
Small victory for doctors: the mediator does not offer ” no subordinated revaluation” to counterparties. At the beginning of 2023, their unions had refused an unconditional increase of 1.50 euros coupled with an increase of 5 euros (i.e. a consultation at 30 euros) for practitioners who would accept counterparties: taking on more patients, doing night call, exercising in a medical desert, working on Saturday mornings…
The representative unions for their part demanded a minimum of 30 euros without conditions. A group of doctors demanded for its part a 100% increase to bring the price of the consultation to 50 euros.
Recruitment of medical assistants
The former inspector of social affairs has also fished out several measures dear to the executive. For “ free up medical time”financial assistance for the recruitment of medical assistants will thus be widened and relaxed”. Emmanuel Macron has set a target of 10,000 jobs by the end of 2024, compared to just over 4,300 to date.
Unlike price increases, this decision will apply without delay, as will the creation of a new consultation at 60 euros for the acceptance of a chronic patient without a treating doctor. Here too, the Head of State promised that the 700,000 people in this situation would see themselves “ propose a treating doctor before the end of the year”.
Nor is there a time limit for the “ response to urgent and unscheduled care”. The referee chose to perpetuate » the incentives for liberals who participate in the “ regulation » Samu telephone service (100 euros per hour) and to receive patients within 48 hours (15 euros increase).
