The President of the Republic once again commented on the slap he suffered during his visit to Clairefontaine – Jean-Emmanuel Etty
Emmanuel Macron again minimized, this Thursday, June 10, the episode of the slap received in the Drôme. “What I feel in the country is optimism, it is a desire to find life again, it is dynamism”, and “a lot of people want to work full time” while the health crisis s ‘soothes, says the Head of State in an interview with BFMTV after having lunch with the French football team in Clairefontaine (Yvelines).
In this context, he indicates that he does not feel that “the company is in the state” in which it found itself during “the moments of very strong tensions” which he has had to know since the beginning of the quinquennium as “the crisis of yellow vests ”.
“It’s okay to get a slap”
“Do not let this stupid and violent act say [la gifle] more than he needs to say, ”he said. “You have to put things into perspective and not trivialize anything” but “it does not matter to receive a slap when you go to a crowd,” he adds.
He refused to comment on the immediate appearance Thursday of the author, Damien T. before the Criminal Court of Valence, since sentenced to 18 months in prison, 14 of which were suspended.
For Emmanuel Macron, “real violence is not that”, but rather that suffered by “women who die under the blow of their companion and their husband” because “there are still too many feminicides against which we we fight with force ”, or by mayors who“ are attacked ”.
