After the Minister of Sports on Monday, Pedro Sanchez also charged the president of the Spanish Football Federation following his imposed kiss on the player Jennifer Hermoso.

After the rise of the controversy on social networks, women and men politicians react in turn to the case of Luis Rubiales, the president of the Spanish Football Federation who kissed striker Jenni Hermoso on the mouth after the world coronation Spanish players.

The Minister of Culture and Sports, Miquel Iceta, had asked Rubiales on Monday to apologize. A call heard, since the person concerned immediately made a video addressed to the N.10 de la Roja.

But this attempt at forgiveness did not seduce in Spain. The president of the Spanish government, Pedro Sanchez, also paid the boss of the RFEF, describing his gesture as “unacceptable“and his apologies”insufficient“. “What we saw was an unacceptable gesture (…) and the apologies he made are insufficient and inadequate”commented Mr. Sánchez during a press conference in Madrid.

Compromising new revelations

Before this new controversy, the reputation of Luis Rubiales was already badly tarnished. In office since 2018, he was accused of having organized orgies with the money of the federation last September. In the past, he was also the subject of a trial for sexual assault and was eventually acquitted. New events should not restore its image.

According to the information published by the newspaper Reveal, Luis Rubiales reportedly begged Jenni Hermoso to appear with him in his apology video, but the player refused. Worse still, the statements published by the Spanish federation where Hermoso minimizes Rubiales’ gesture would never have been uttered by the La Roja striker. They would have been written by the communication of the RFEF and distributed to the media.

The top scorer in the history of Spain should speak in the coming days to clarify a little more this controversy that never ends.
