The premises of the editorial staff of the newspaper “L’Humanité” robbed

Newspaper editorial office Humanity were robbed on Thursday morning. Computer equipment was stolen, AFP learned from the Bobigny prosecutor’s office and sources close to the investigation. The facts took place shortly after 6 a.m., in a building located in the Pleyel district of Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis). The burglars, disguised as workers, broke a window on the ground floor to enter the five-storey building housing several businesses. About fifty computers were stolen as well as video equipment and mobile phones, according to sources close to the investigation.

The editorial staff of the daily newspaper founded in 1904 by Jean Jaurès occupies two floors of this building. “All the floors with different companies were targeted”, specifies the Bobigny prosecution, in particular the National Union of Railway Workers and Complementary Activities of the CFDT and an engineering company where computer equipment was stolen.

The direction of Humanity indicates that there will be no “impact on the circulation of the newspaper” and specifies that “a specific point of damage is being assessed”. The investigation was entrusted to the judicial police of Seine-Saint-Denis.
