Emmanuel Macron expresses his solidarity with Poland

The French president expressed, during a press conference on Wednesday following the G20 summit, its solidarity with Poland. “Analyses are in progress”insisted the Head of State, who wished “make full clarity” on this incident which occurred on the territory of a NATO member country. “We are cooperating with Poland to understand what happened. (…) Early work was shared by the United States. You have to be very careful”he added.

Commenting on the conclusions of the Bali summit, the President said that the G20 did not want war in Ukraine or nuclear blackmail and that the meeting had highlighted a “great convergence to push Russia to de-escalation (…). Russia must return to the negotiating table”.

“China can play a greater mediation role with us in the coming months”he said, adding that he had discussed with Chinese President Xi Jinping the “principle” of a visit to China in early 2023.

French President Emmanuel Macron assured Wednesday in Bali that Paris “supports the full integration of the African Union into the G20”, just as the European Union is a member of it. He also announced the holding “next June in Paris” of one “international conference on a new financial pact with the South”with the wish to “create the conditions for a real shock of financing towards the South”because “we should not, we cannot ask these countries to support multilateralism, if it is not able to respond to their vital emergencies”.
