A man armed with a knife was neutralized by police officers on Thursday evening in Meudon (Hauts-de-Seine), learns 20 minutes corroborating sources, confirming information from
BFM TV. The facts took place around 7 p.m., near the educational village of Saint-Philippe. A witness alerts the police to the presence in the street of this 49-year-old man, who attacks passers-by. Two crews from the BAC (anti-crime brigade) were then sent on site.

When they arrive, the man who sees them steps over a barrier and runs in their direction without saying a word. In his hand, a serrated meat knife. After asking him to stop, an officer draws his gun and shoots in his direction three times. He collapsed, hit in the abdomen and elbow. The officials are giving him first aid. Seriously injured, he was transported to Percy hospital in Clamart without his vital prognosis being engaged.

The suspect is unknown to the police and the judiciary. “There is no terrorist character,” insists a source familiar with the matter. As for the policeman who opened fire, he is in a state of shock. An investigation was opened for attempted voluntary homicide on a person holding public authority and another concerning the use of the weapon by the official, tells us the Nanterre prosecutor’s office.
