Taking advantage of a meeting of the Nupes, which had to be canceled, a group of 200 demonstrators burst into the room before occupying it. About fifty people spent the night in the square. Owner of the premises, the city of Rennes immediately requested the assistance of the police “to have the premises evacuated as soon as possible. »

The occupants taking refuge on the roof

Still in progress, the intervention mobilizes several dozen mobile gendarmes. After having cleared the barricades positioned at the entrance, they entered calmly inside the hall of the City. On the spot, about twenty demonstrators took refuge on the roof of the equipment, asking to be able to leave without identity check. The firefighters are also present on site to evacuate the occupants using the large ladder. No arrests have been made so far.

Formerly Maison du Peuple, the hall of the City had already been occupied for several days by students in 2016 at the time of the Labor law. The Raid teams had intervened to evacuate the premises.
