They goose step towards the sunset. Militiamen in black dresses, masked with caps and balaclavas, parade on Tel Aviv’s Kaplan Street. The squad is accompanied by a band of brass and drums who sing the “Imperial March,” that darkly ominous anthem from the “Star Wars” films. Darth Vader, the dark side of power, has arrived on the streets of Israel. Eyes left, eyes right, then the battle cry follows: “We watch over the dictatorship with fire and blood.”
