A hard blow for swimmers and families. Closed since last July due to problems with water leaks, the swimming pool of the Little Amazon, located in the Pré-Gauchet-Malakoff district of Nantes, will not reopen its doors in May as planned. The site is running late and will have to be extended by ten months. The reopening of municipal equipment is now planned for the winter holidays 2024, announces the city of Nantes.
“During the work to restore the watertightness of the basins, various problems were observed, resulting from the quality of the concrete. Corrective works will have to be programmed. For this, the City of Nantes is obliged to launch a new consultation, for works which will be integrated into those already in progress, ”indicates the town hall.
The work started on the Petite-Amazonie swimming pool also involved renovating the glass roofs, the thermal insulation, the solar hot water system and the lighting.
