Half past seven in the evening in Oberammergau, terrace of the “Alte Post” hotel: Judas and Maria Magdalena are just cycling past in a hurry, now a bearded, older man, maybe one of the “High Council”. And the one who shoots around the corner with breakneck speed, isn’t that Jesus? Jesus, aka Frederik Mayet, stops briefly, says he’s late and has to go to the stage. The best seat in Oberammergau is not in the first row of the theater, but on this very terrace, at the corner of Dorfstrasse and Theaterstrasse. Because there you can sit with a glass of wine during the performance break of the Passion and watch all the Passion VIPs roar by on bicycles on the way to the second part, which starts at 8 p.m. When there are Passion Plays in Oberammergau, the whole village becomes a stage, the spectacle begins the moment you get there, you have to know that when you drive there.
