It is a gigantic project: “The Passion” tells the story of the last days of Jesus in a completely new way: set in the present day and as a musical from well-known German pop songs, the whole thing with a gigantic line-up of stars: Alexander Klaws embodies Jesus Christ, his disciples are played by Laith al Deen, Sarah Elena Koch, Samuel Koch, Prince Damien, Thomas Enns, Nicolas Puschmann, Anna-Carina Woitschack, Stefan Mross, Sila Sahin, Mareile Höppner and Gil Ofarim.
Prominent guest stars such as Nelson Müller, Reiner Calmund, Katy Karrenbauer, Wolfgang Bahro, Ingolf Lück, Rebecca Siemoneit-Barum and Tanja Szewczenko were won for supporting roles. And Thomas Gottschalk leads through the evening as narrator. The whole thing is staged live on the Burgplatz in Essen.
