The investigation into the assault on Patrick Trémeau continues. Nicknamed the “parking lot rapist”, the man was “violently beaten” on the night of Friday to Saturday near his home in Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis). According to
The Parisian, its vital prognosis is no longer engaged. Released from prison on June 17, he had served twenty years in prison after raping 18 people in the 1980s and 1990s in the Paris region.
His attackers pretended to be police before breaking into Patrick Trémeau’s home with a gun. The former detainee with an electronic bracelet tried to escape them by jumping from his window, before being joined by them and being beaten up.
Demonstrations on his arrival in the city
The return of the recidivist rapist to civilian life was not well received by the inhabitants of Coulommiers (Seine-et-Marne), elected officials having blocked access to his old building. Patrick Trémeau therefore chose to move to the town of Saint-Denis. Always according to The Parisian, the inhabitants of the district had immediately demonstrated and demanded his departure.
No arrest had yet taken place Monday afternoon and the investigation was entrusted to the departmental judicial police service of Seine-Saint-Denis.
