Para’vols has developed a new kind of parasol, which should allow holidaymakers to surf with peace of mind: it does not fly away. But that’s not its only asset.
This innovation, Laurent Vignoulle, the director of this Catalan company, owes it to “a grandpa Géo Trouvetou”, whom the “chance of meetings” put in his way. This man had imagined a prototype, which caught the eye of the entrepreneur. “I started from his initial idea, and I developed it,” says Laurent Vignoulle. This parasol is, first of all, easy to install. “Depending on the weather conditions, the nature of the soil, sand, pebbles… Planting a parasol can be a real pain,” he continues.
The foot is a shovel and an anchor
The invention is equipped, instead of the traditional tip of parasol feet, with a “shovel, which makes it possible to make a hole”. “Once you have dug, you put your foot in it, you fill it up,” Laurent Vignoulle continues. The shovel becomes an anchor, 26 by 20 cm. I guarantee you the parasol will never fly away. We tested with winds of 80 km / h, the parasol turned over, but it remained on the foot. “
The invention of Para’vols, made of recycled plastic, embeds another particularly practical gadget on the beach: a small safe, closed with a padlock with numbers, which allows you to slip phones, keys and wallets … that the padlock, connected to the base by a small cable, is open, “you use it as a handle to remove the parasol,” says Laurent Vignoulle. You shoot at 45 °, it will go up very easily. We solve the flight and the flight. This parasol, which weighs only 680 grams more than a traditional parasol, is available in several models. The foot alone costs around thirty euros. With the top of the parasol, the set is sold 49 euros. Laurent Vignoulle, whose invention, which he manufactures in his workshop near Perpignan, is very successful (one of the models is already out of stock) is putting together “a file to have it recognized as being of public utility, at the level of security, he notes. Because a parasol that flies away can do a lot of damage ”.
