The Palme d’Or “Titanium” will represent France

There were only three left: Titanium by Julia Ducornau, Palme d’Or at the last Cannes film festival, The event by Aurey Diwan, Golden Lion in Venice which will be released in theaters on November 24, and, finally, North Bac, the controversial film by Cédric Jimenez with two million spectators. Which would represent France in the Oscar race for best foreign film? It is finally Titanium which was chosen by a commission, made up of Julie Delpy, Florent Zeller, Iris Knobloch, Alain Goldman, Emilie Georges, Grégory Chambet, Thierry Frémaux, Serge Toubiana and Elisabeth Tanner. “The choice of plume”, one might say.

“We are very proud that Titanium, a particularly exceptional film, can wear the colors of France in the competition for the Oscar for international feature film ”rejoiced Dominique Boutonnat, President of the National Center for Cinema and Animated Image. Note that the film is not yet guaranteed to be in the short-list of Oscar contenders for best foreign film.
