Investigative authorities are apparently investigating the suspicion that the sanctioned Russian businessman Alisher Usmanow is said to have rented expensive luxury seats in the Allianz Arena – via a shell company for the purpose of money laundering.
Among the 75,000 seats in Munich’s Allianz Arena, home ground of Bayern Munich, who are still champions, there are a few that are very special: particularly exclusive, comfortable and expensive. According to the Arena homepage, there is room for exactly 1,368 people in the 106 boxes of the Fröttmaninger football opera. “There you can offer your business partners and customers something very special,” write the marketing professionals: “The best seats in the extraordinary atmosphere of the Allianz Arena help you Maintaining business contacts and establishing new partnerships.” No wonder that a number of prominent business people and companies are interested in these hotly contested luxury boxes – recently even the money laundering investigators of the Frankfurt Public Prosecutor’s Office, although they are unlikely to rent them.
